Registration Deadline: October 13, 2025

 

This course discusses the necessary communication skills for effectively participating in boardroom dynamics, focusing on face-to-face communication, the importance of preparation and how to be an impactful 'active listener.' The course will utilize real world examples to teach effective ways to apply communication and other soft skills such as empathy.

 

KEY TOPICS

  • Practice implementing soft skills (listening, empathy, awareness, etc.) through boardroom scenarios.
  • Understand and apply the elements of effective, face-to-face communication in the boardroom.
  • Recognize the soft skills critical for effective and positive boardroom discussions.

 

    CREDITS

    • NRECA – 1 credit
    • CEU – 0.6 credits

     

    WHO SHOULD ATTEND

    Directors of cooperative boards and CEO’s who serve on G&T boards.

    ATTENDEE COST

    Please note this course is part of the 2025/2026 AIEC Continuing Education Program.  Twenty-seven co-ops participate in the AIEC Continuing Education Program and share the cost of NRECA training hosted by the AIEC.  Each registration will be charged $25 per person admin fee for snacks, meals, Zoom membership and room setup.

    *All classes require a minimum of 15 in-person attendees.

     

    CANCELLATION POLICY

    Cancellations made prior to the registration deadline will not be charged. Cancellations within 48 hours of the course or a “No Show,” will be charged the full registration amount. Substitutions are allowed.
